An in-house project in which
designers think and communicate on their own.Power Design Project

In 2002, an experimental project by designers began. The Seiko Power Design Project was supervised by product designer Naoto Fukasawa, and aimed to encourage employees to think deeply about the future of the brand and come up with their own ideas in a style different from that of their regular work. The prototypes created were shown to the public, and some of them were even commercialized; the project won the Good Design Award in 2008, and the activities that continued until 2009 provided the designers with food for thought, and in no small part influenced their subsequent thinking.
