Seiko's unique and revolutionary mechanism
driven by a mainspring and controlled by quartz.Spring Drive

In 1999, Seiko introduced its first watch equipped with the Spring Drive movement, which combined the features of a mechanical watch with a high-precision quartz. Like a mechanical watch, the mainspring's unraveling force was used as the power source to drive the watch, and its regulating mechanism achieved the same high precision as a quartz watch. The integrated design from the case to the bracelet was futuristic, but at the same time serene and elegant. The design is also very distinctive in that it shows the pins passing through the joints that connect the case to the bracelet.
