The world's first watch with recording and playback functions

This was an epoch-making watch at the time, capable of either 8 seconds of standard audio recording or 4 seconds of high-quality audio recording.

In 1983, Seiko, which had been working on the development of watches into information devices using cutting-edge mechatronics technology, launched the world's first watch with an audio recording and playback function, the Voice Note. Its square, black and silver color scheme was reminiscent of audio equipment, and its asymmetrical silhouette was unique. The push dimples on the recording and playback buttons are each set at different positions to help prevent erroneous operation. In addition, the speaker is positioned on the top surface, and the LCD is surrounded by function indicators, making the layout easy to identify the functions at a glance.
