A watch that lies dormant when not in use.
The concept of a life form with an exoskeleton.Kinetic Auto-Relay

In addition to the novelty of its functions, the Kinetic Auto-Relay’s design has strong individuality.

The design is very three-dimensional and unified, creating a connection from the bezel through to the case and crown.

The silvery convex surface in the center of the cover glass was designed to create the image of a “mirror reflecting the future.”

Born in 2000, the Kinetic Auto-Relay is powered by an automatic generator. It goes dormant when not in use and returns to the current time when it is awakened. Based on its particular functional features, the watch was designed with the concept of an organic form, like a creature with an exoskeleton that has awakened from sleep. The concave/convex molding that visually connects the bezel, case, and braceletwas deliberately laid out while solving technical problems in molding and polishing to create a one-of-a-kind shape. The pointed shape on the center line, overlapping the case and bracelet, is reminiscent of a rhinoceros horn, while the silvery protrusion in the center of the glass is intended to represent a mirror reflecting the future.
