A watch that exemplified the very best of Seiko in technology and design.Grand Seiko

This watch features long, wide hands and indexes composed of three-dimensional surfaces. The Grand Seiko logo on the dial is engraved to show the brilliance of the metal.

Grand Seiko was launched in 1960. The first watch was created through making special adjustments to the base of the Crown movement and incorporated the highest watchmaking technology in all aspects, including the movement, exterior, and dial. The box-shaped acrylic glass was set with minimal space above the hands. The bold hands and indexes were the main features of the design. It was also the first model to feature a rubber gasket to prevent damage from perspiration. A lot of time was spent on the design of the logo typeface on the dial and the lion mark on the case back to create a special and elegant feel. The Grand Seiko logo on the dial is engraved to show of the beauty of the material. All watches came with a certificate that certified the movement in the watch met the strict accuracy standard of Grand Seiko.

The "lion mark" on the back of the watch was only given to products certified by Seiko's strict inspection at the time.
