“Slant mono form” design expresses
the Grand Seiko style.Grand Seiko's
first Spring Drive watch

The first Grand Seiko equipped with Spring Drive was introduced in 2004. The three-dimensional beauty of the case is a major feature of this model.

The sides of the case have an inward-slanted shape, as if it were rising up from below. The shape of the curve running from the bezel to the case is also quite particular.

The large hour, minute, and seconds hands, as well as the calendar, are both legible and luxurious. The dial with a thick silver radial finish is also a distinctive feature.

In 2004, Grand Seiko, aiming for the pinnacle of watches, was equipped with Seiko's own revolutionary mechanism, Spring Drive. This model, with the Spring Drive Caliber 9R65 movement, looks at first glance like a standard Grand Seiko watch, but is characterized by a "slant mono form" design that gently leads from the top of the bezel to the body and back of the watch. The shape of the inward-slanted profile also makes the case look lighter. The dial features large hands with beautifully cut surfaces and a calendar, providing both a sense of luxury and legibility. The thick silver radial finish, a characteristic of Grand Seiko, is also employed.
