When the crown is wound for 3 minutes,
the watch runs for 3 days. The hand-wound quartz watch, Impact

While various developments to eliminate the need for battery were underway from the introduction of quartz watches, a solar-powered watch was successfully developed in 1977. At the same time, the company was also developing a mechanism that utilized human movement as an energy source. In 1986, the company commercialized the Impact, a hand-wound watch that generated electricity by winding the crown. Even if the watch was stopped, winding the crown for about three minutes fully charges the battery, indicated by the signal at the 6 o'clock position on the dial lighting up. From that point on, the watch could run for approximately three days. This product won the Good Design Award in 1987.
