The series of pieces resembling Go stones placed in a simple arrangement,
each overlapping another, produces a design that evokes a sense of Japanese aesthetics.Power Design Model (a.k.a. “Go Stone”)

This model has a strong minimalist appeal, with the case and bracelet purposely made as a series of pieces all in the same shape, each piece overlapping another.

Its minimalist design evokes a Japanese sense of aesthetics.

The dial is also thoroughly minimalist. The glass is curved to give a sense of unity with the case.

The “Go stone” watch was presented in the 2005 Power Design Project under the theme of “fascination.” Originally a prototype for an exhibition, it was later commercialized in 2006 in response to a request from an overseas subsidiary. The design, in which the sculptural beauty of the Go stone pieces overlapping each other in a deliberately simple arrangement devoid of superfluous elements, evokes a Japanese sense of beauty. The dimensions of the case and bracelet pieces are based on the size of actual Go stones. The dial is also kept extremely simple to create a sense of unity.
