The first Japan-made chronograph
that pursued the development of the watch as a measuring instrument.Crown Chronograph

The bezel of the first generation model was made of plastic material for its black coloring, but was replaced by stainless steel from the second generation onward.

This watch was meticulously designed down to the smallest detail, including attention to its operability, with the button placed at the 2 o’clock position.

Every element of the dial is designed with the goal of legibility.

The first domestically produced watch with a stopwatch function, launched in 1964 to coincide with an international sporting event; each successive push of the button at the 2 o'clock position starts the center hand, stops the hand, and resets the hand to the 12 o'clock position. The design reflected its function as a stopwatch by making the button easy to press and the scale on the bezel easy to read. As a sports model, it was equipped with a metal bracelet as standard equipment, which was rare at the time.
